What is the difference between an In-Network and Out-of-Network responder?Published: 08/03/2015
- Out-of-Network confirmation does not include authentication and authorisation of the respondent. Confirmation.com has performed no procedures to validate either the entity or the individual responding to the confirmation. That responsibility falls to the auditor who is required to determine that the confirmation was sent to the proper source, and that the respondent is authorised to respond.
- In-Network confirmations require no additional authentication or authorisation procedures by the auditor. Confirmation.com maintains a contractual relationship with the responding entity and performs these validations on behalf of the auditor.
